Marcellus Dance Studio

The Marcellus Dance Studio has been a well-respected dance institution in the DMV for twenty years now. It’s humble beginnings were with a Summer Camp in 1999. Stanley Marcellus Reynolds began the studio after a successful career of teaching in various PG county and DC arts magnet schools such as Pullen and other schools throughout the east coast. The studio has been the recipient of awards and recognitions from private and governmental sectors for being an exemplary institution of dance education and giving back to the community.

he MDS Company, which is our exclusive pre-professional performance troupe, is annually invited to perform for many events in and outside of the DMV. Such have included performing for the Secret Service, an event honoring Teri Crews and various community health expos and senior centers. The studio also proudly serves our community by providing free event like Movie Nights and Game Nights in attempts to spread our personal practice of “family first” and conducting Donation Drives to feed and clothe our area’s homeless and less fortunate. We believe that being respected by the community means having a responsibility toward the same.  And it has been our honor for these 20 years.

Our Founder

"Mr. Reynolds"

Stanley Marcellus Reynolds has been a pillar in the dance community in our area for many decades. He has lent his expertise publicly through various private, public and charter schools as well as donating time to community and civic centers. He was also a professor of dance at the University of DC. His “lightening-bolt” personality is one that is never forgotten upon first meeting but it is his dedication to providing stellar dance education while proving his genuine care and concern for each and every student that precedes his reputation as a phenomenal, one-of-a-kind dance instructor. He is determined to promote a family environment with the Marcellus Dance Studio while meeting each student where they are and taking them to new heights in their dance training.
